Attention Shuffling Horror Directors! It’s time to turn up the horror in your games! As per the written rules, the Fade Out token can only be placed at the end of your turn. Well, it’s your movie, isn’t it?!? Why can’t you place it whenever you want to give the players a good scare? Guess what… now you can… And we’re even amp-ing up the game’s cinematic vibe at the same time for no extra charge!
The Fade Out Countdown
After the conclusion of any survivor’s turn (survivor’s NOT player’s), the Director may place the Fade Out token on any Item or Power Play card on the movie screen. The Director also places the 3, 2, and 1 countdown tokens along the top of the movie screen (next to the Reel Pile). The picture above demonstrates the set-up you can implement at the start of a game.
After the conclusion of each subsequent survivor turn the Director removes one countdown token. When the final countdown token is removed, so is the Fade Out token and its marked card. This screen card is discarded and a replacement card is drawn from the Reel Pile.
No countdown token is ever removed on the Director’s turn – only after a survivor’s turn. Also, the replacement card cannot trigger a Creature Feature (if one occurs it is ignored).
Fade Out is now much more terrifying. It previously gave players a full round to strategize; they now have a 3-2-1 countdown to act. Just like in a movie, the best weapon might end up in the hands of the least capable survivor, but…

It’s been ten days since Dice Hog Day – let the Hogging of the Dice begin! Without snow on the ground, the Dice Hog quickly ferreted out his dice (it also helped that we used super-sized dice)! One die showed a 3 and the other a 5. As per the official rules of play (found here), tally times two yields 16 more days of winter left!
End of Winter is officially February 26th!!!

The Dice Hog got up early, dressed up like a lumberjack, grabbed a pair of dice, and trekked off into the wild to do his thing: predict the end of winter. He was very disappointed that there was no snow to romp in; all he could find was this minuscule iced puddle. This put him in a funk and it took a little coaxing to give the old dice a roll… Before rolling, he crossed his tentacles then shouted in his shrill little voice “Come on winter! Baby needs a new pair of snowboots!” And now, as per the official Dice Hog Day rules noted below, we must wait seven days until we find out what he rolled.
RULES OF PLAY FOR DICE HOG DAY!
On Feb 3, the day after those other hogs get it wrong, our Dice Hog appears and rolls a pair of dice into the wild. He then immediately goes back into his hide-out. A week later, he re-emerges to find them and follows these rules:
1. Dice must stay where they land for seven days, untouched.
2. When there is no snow on them whatsoever, none, the dice result is multiplied by two. Two special rules apply to this result (it wouldn’t be very GameWicky if we didn’t have some “hot numbers”):
Snake Eyes (1,1) – Winter is officially over and you can put the snow shovels away immediately.
Boxcars (6, 6) – Uh Oh! There’s probably more snow coming. Bring dice back inside and wait for next storm. Then repeat process as if it is Feb 3 all over again.
