The Roswell 51 rulebook has been published online, so all those who are curious can take a peek under the hood of the Shufflng Horror system. More importantly, the R51 rules fix some of the glitches in Pittsburgh 68 play, and so those who own that game should follow these rules instead (same great system, but it just got even better)! Two key differences are:
The Survivor Draw Pile: a new way to deal out the survivors that fixes the issue of unused characters.
Plot Device Cards: These are now player’s choice to Play Immediately or return to the discard pile (so that they come up later).
There are also advanced play options for both Roswell 51 and Pittsburgh 68 play!

Rule Guides, Shuffling Horrors
Below are links to three playing aids for Shuffling Horror: Pittsburgh 68. The Script For Beginning Play is an overview of the original Pittsburgh 68 rules (with examples of play). Since its release in 2012, some rules have been revised for Roswell 51, the second game in our Shuffling Horror line. One such rule is explained in the Survivor Draw Pile guide (pdf link below) which streamlines the start of the game. Last, but not least, is The Big Screen, a guide to setting up your tabletop for play; this is a great starting for first time Pittsburgh 68 players as it outlines the arrangement of cards for the reel.

For those of you who have played with us at conventions, you’re probably very familiar with this layout! And now, we’ve released a free pdf that explains how to set up your tabletop in a similar fashion, take command as the Director, and run a fearsome Pittsburgh 68 game. This layout is the inspiration for our soon-to-be-released Shuffling Horror Shuffle Board (more info on this is coming very, very soon).

Rule Guides, Shuffle Board, Shuffling Horrors
We’ve got some new rules for Shuffling Horror that will change the way you play! It’s called the Survivor Draw Pile and it streamlines how survivor cards are dealt and revealed during the game. The new SDP rules simplify the game’s original methods.
The SDP completely resolves the dilemma a Director faced when playing a game versus five or more players. In such games, each player would start with an equal number of survivor cards and the remainder would be removed from play.
The SDP also secures that all survivor cards are in-play for all players. It safeguards rapid player elimination, as a player cannot be eliminated while cards remain in the SDP.
