Innsmouth 32: Project On Hold

May 18th, 2019

May 2019 – Innsmouth 32 Kickstarter On Hold

Hello Innsmouth friends,

An unfortunate reality!  With less than two weeks to go on our campaign, we need an insane vertical spike in new backers, which I don’t think is going to be a reality. While I would love to continue this campaign to its end, the best course of action is to cancel and focus on its future reboot.

Three key reasons I know this is the correct path:

1: The distance we have to go to reach our funding goal is a big impediment to enthuse a new wave of backers to join us (especially so late in the game). That funding goal is locked and cannot be changed; I’ve given this a lot of thought and believe I can make the goal more attainable in our reboot.

2: The daily management of the campaign is all-consuming; the time I would spend to keep the campaign moving forward will be much better spent preparing for our reboot. While I already have new promotional content created to take us through the final days, it makes more sense to save that content for round two.

3: I know I can make improvements on this kickstarter and the game, too. First off, a “How To Play” video was suggested and is needed. Also, there are undisclosed stretch goals that I know will add a whole new level of excitement. With the lack of momentum we have to reach the stretch goals, I need to assess a way to have them attainable or included. We at least have to give these a better shot!

I truly appreciate all of the likes, comments, messages, and shares across social media that I saw from YOU – and, for me, that made this whole experience worth it.  It truly disappoints me that I have to pull the plug after all this encouragement, but I know this is the best thing to do to make Innsmouth 32 better, stronger, and creepier!

Thank you for your support, friends!

Innsmouth 32 – Wickstarter Preview #1

May 13th, 2019

Gangsters versus Lovecraftian Terrors!

Here’s this week’s “Wickstarter” preview for our Innsmouth 32 board game.  Our Kickstarter (link below) is off to a good start, but we need the help of our friends and fans to save us from the Deep Ones! There are two great ways to do this:

1. Visit our kickstarter page and share via the social buttons on the right side of the screen (icons for Facebook, Twitter, etc).

2. Click on the pic below and share that with your favorite social groups! Include this short link to our Innsmouth 32 Kickstarter page:

Goth Chick Shuffles The Horror!

May 11th, 2019

FB-SQR-SHB-2018I had sent a Shuffling Horror press kit to Sue Granquist (aka Goth Chick News) over at Black Gate Magazine; a site I’ve been a lurker on for a few years now as they cover a wide array of geeky topics (games, lit, cinema, conventions, ancient history, The Shadow). I was not prepared for the review that was posted, but, here’s how it begins:

“You know how you feel when you meet a new friend and there’s an instant connection? Someone you know will just ‘get you’ and who you’ll now want to spend all your time with, texting them, stalking them on social media, finding out where they live and driving by, and…”

And here’s how it ends:

“Oh, and Larry – that’ll be my black car parked outside your house this weekend.”

Now, everything else in between is the most ebullient review of our Shuffling Horror system that I have ever read. Being sent our press packet cold, with no clue what to expect upon opening, Sue utterly grasped what our creepy little game system is all about. From the art to the GM style, her review nails the B-movie spirit of our indie game. The review is written in a style that aligns with the type of fun we have with our friends and fans at conventions. And for the record, I never use the word ebullient… but… yeah… such a great review!

If you only read one board game review this year, make it this one!

Innsmouth 32 – Backer Update #2: Movie Time!

May 8th, 2019

The Innsmouth 32 Trailer Is Live!

To celebrate the one week mark, we just unveiled our Innsmouth 32 trailer to give you a quick taste of the horror that awaits! In the video, you also get a glimpse at the rulebook cover that features the characters arriving at the Gilman House hotel (some decrepit locals linger in the shadows there, too). It is such a wonderfully eerie illustration, and as you probably have seen on the page, this is a game loaded with fantastic artwork….
