Great news, Roswellians!
Our Roswell 51 Kickstarter hit its 10k mark and unlocked its second stretch goal! All thanks to those of you who backed our funky sci-fi outer space invasion game. To celebrate, we’re going to add a little popcorn to go along with our movie!
Well… not real popcorn…
Popcorn is a really cool bonus card. During the game, when this card “pops up”, it will give an immediate bonus to either the Survivors or the Aliens (depending on who causes it to appear). There’s nothing like this in the deck – and now there will be because of the support of our backers.
What is shown above is the card prototype; the creepy cool zombie hands reaching for the popcorn is drawn by Steve Blickenstaff. We will be including two types of popcorn in the game box: one in the Roswell 51 style and one in Pittsburgh 68 style. Each card has the appropriate back for use in that deck. We wanted to make sure that if you like the flavor it adds to one game, that you could add it to the other.

Greetings Roswellians!
On our about this date in 1947, the aliens crash-landed in Roswell, NM – the rest is history. Our Roswell 51 kickstarter is steadily moving forward and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has become a backer and those who have helped to spread the word about our indy game efforts. Roswell 51 has eleven days to go, and I’m sure we are going to obliterate our next stretch goal really soon. Congrats!

Greetings Roswellians!
The anniversary of the Roswell UFO Incident is upon us…
“In early July, 1947, a mysterious object crashed on a ranch 30 miles north of Roswell. The Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) issued a statement claiming to have recovered a crashed “flying disk.” An article ran on the front page of the Roswell Daily Record and the next day, RAAF changed its statement to say that the object was a weather balloon, not a flying disk as they previously reported.”
And so the stage is set…
Roswell 51 picks up four years after this reported incident and things are getting weird. The government is sticking to its weather balloon story, but won’t reveal what’s going on in the mysterious Hanger 51 on base. Orbs of light whiz across the night sky. Weird vegetation is sprouting up in the desert. Townsfolk are starting to disappear, and your neighbors are starting to act very, very, strange.

Greetings Roswellians!
It is not quite a week since we started our journey together and, thanks to each and every backer contribution, we have reached our first stretch goal: a dice upgrade! This was an important one for us to hit early on, as this is a game component that must be assembled and shipped to our production facility in Indiana. The dice will be ordered from Koplow Games (the Nice Dice People), based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Roswell 51 was originally slated to include four standard white dice. Thanks to you, we will now be including a pair of 16mm white dice and a pair of 16mm black dice. That 16mm size is perfect for our retro black-and-white movie theme. The dice will be packed in a 3 x 5 inch zip bag, handy for holding the game’s tokens.
Your pledges have made a difference right down to the dice!

We are getting ready to launch our Shuffling Horror: Roswell 51 kickstarter – it’s just a couple weeks away! While you wait, here’s a little sneak peek at our early robot designs for one of the movie’s featured heroes, R-51, the Robot. We designed him with 1950’s sci-fi movie standards in mind: he had to be big enough to fit a human actor inside. Plus, he needed to be as cool as his pals Robby the Robot, Gort, and Robot B-9, too!
