News, Reviews
A great review for Roswell 51 from Jeff Provine on BlogCritics. Jeff hones in on the sci-fi theme and storytelling aspects of game play. Some quotes:
“There are nods to the thrilling sci-fi movies of the ‘50s all through Roswell 51, both in its colorful art and in-game. Even the cover for the instruction manual is loaded with fake news stories discussing missing cattle, baffled botanists, and theremin music playing in the desert. Simply flipping through the box will set the mood for players.”
“Through it all, the best part of Roswell 51 is adding description from the players. Those playing valiant human survivors should get into character, perhaps even adopting an accent while they choose their actions. The Director can deliver taunting lines about the destruction of Earth while unleashing monster cards. Engagement grows as the story develops, leading to shrieks of laughter or pain as the dice roll to show how the scenes unfold.”

Innsmouth 32, Innsmouth 32 Updates, Meet The Cast
“I think their predominant colour was a greyish-green, though they had white bellies. They were mostly shiny and slippery, but the ridges of their backs were scaly. Their forms vaguely suggested the anthropoid, while their heads were the heads of fish, with prodigious bulging eyes that never closed. At the sides of their necks were palpitating gills, and their long paws were webbed. They hopped irregularly, sometimes on two legs and sometimes on four. I was somehow glad that they had no more than four limbs.”

Conventions, GameWick News, Gen Con
Finding us at GenCon 2019 should be pretty easy this year! We’re practically in the middle of the hall, with a direct line to a main entrance. Head right on down Aisle 1200 until you see the Dice Hog. Ok… he’s pretty small… nowhere near as big as he is in the pic below. Just look for our big Shuffling Horror banner, a wall of Roswell 51 and Pittsburgh 68 games, and the smiling faces of the GameWick Gang.
Looking for what game events we’re running? Here’s the full list. Most are SOLD OUT, but we do accept generics if players don’t show up. All games are on the Lucas Oil Stadium field (a short walk from the exhibit hall). We are the first tables you will find when entering the field! Don’t miss your chance to play in a stadium event!!!

Can’t wait to see some old friends and meet some new ones!

Innsmouth 32, Innsmouth 32 Updates, Meet The Cast
” . .and one, who led the way, was clad in a ghoulishly humped black coat and striped trousers,
and had a man’s felt hat perched on the shapeless thing that answered for a head. . . .”

The Groom is just on of the terrors that await you in old Innsmouth town. He was inspired by that single line of text in H.P. Lovecraft’s original weird tale. Not the sort of guy you want to meet in a dark alley!
